How to Use Whipped Body Butter

A little goes a long way. Five simple steps to get the most from every scoop.

Whipped Shea Butter is airy in the jar and rich on the skin. Using it well is less about how much you apply and more about when and how. Here's the routine we recommend.

  1. Start with damp skin

Right after a shower is ideal. Pat dry with a towel, but leave skin slightly damp.

  2. Scoop a small amount

A fingertip-sized scoop is enough for an arm or leg. Use clean, dry fingers to keep the jar fresh.

  3. Warm it between your palms

The whipped texture melts on contact into a smooth, silky layer that spreads easily.

  4. Massage in, slowly

Work in gentle circles and give extra attention to areas that feel drier: elbows, knees, heels and hands.

  5. Give it a minute

Let it settle for a minute or two before getting dressed.

Where to use it

  • Hands & cuticles
  • Arms & legs
  • Elbows & knees
  • Feet & heels

Morning or night?

Either works. Many people prefer the butter at night, when it has time to settle in, and a lighter lotion during the day. If you want a richer feel, apply a little extra to hands and feet before bed.

Prepping with a body scrub once or twice a week helps the butter feel even smoother.

Storing your jar

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat, and keep the lid closed between uses.
